Yeah! There are no restrictions when closing or blocking an account in our offshore bank. You are free to close or block your account if you wish. The process is immediate and free. Of course, if your money is invested, it usually takes a day or two to liquidate positions, but even then, no one will stop you from withdrawing your funds or charge you a financial penalty.
No ! Banks are what they are (safe and private) because they are international companies. A foreign branch of a bank would be a local bank owned by the bank. This local bank would be no different from any of the banks you have been dealing with in your country. You would not be subject to bank secrecy laws but to the laws of the country where you are located.
No! You must be 18 years old to open the account. We understand that you can be under 18 years old and already have an independent financial life, but unfortunately, due to the bank superintendence law, banking entities cannot open accounts for non-residents under 18 years of age. The only solution we can offer is to start the procedure shortly before you turn 18 and open the account when you are of legal age.
It depends on the type of account you want or if it is a settlement or claims procedure type. Is there deposit insurance at the MAURITIUS OFFSHORE BANK ? There is no government deposit insurance in our system. But your deposits are probably safer at our bank than at most other banks in the country.
